Marcello is a professional fight director and registered BADC (British Academy of Dramatic Combat) combat instructor offering fight direction , workshops and training to film,opera, tv and stage companies .He is the fight master at several established drama schools in London .
Being able to fight on screen,the stage or in a field, requires more than just weilding a weapon and shouting.It requires balance, complicite with the other performers, a strong and healthy body and mind,good timing,good spatial awareness and an understanding that what we do as performers MUST always be repeatable and above all SAFE.
What sets Marcello apart from a lot of fight directors is years of excellent training from the best in the business as well as years of experience both on and off stage and in front and behind the camera.
Being an actor as well as a fight director gives Marcello a particular knack for understanding how the actor`s process works and the ability to communicate effectively thereby getting the best out of whoever he is directing.His awareness as an actor also gives him a sensitivity for what directors want and the ability to work as part of a creative team.
He has worked in and around England in venues such as The Royal Albert Hall, Covent Garden Opera House , the West End , The Globe, Glynebourne Opera House to mention a few. He has also worked around Europe at theatres and Opera Houses in Spain , Italy, Norway and the Czech Republic.
He has had the pleasure of working with some of the worlds best fight directors and weapons specialists such as Mike Loades, Ric Sordelet, Richard Ryan and William Hobbs to name but a few.
